The magnetoelastic phenomenon

The measurement method is based on the magnetoelastic phenomenon. The change of the force changes the shape of the hysteresis loop (see scheme) and the magnetoelastic characteristics of the measured ferromagnetical material. The DYNAMAG® measures the changes of relative permeability in several working points with a different magnetic saturation and this way extracts the net of calibration curves – the relation between µr and the tension force F. The inverted characteristics can be directly used to find the force according to the measured value of µr.
